Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation Hires Executive Director

The Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation and “Dare to Dream Camp” have hired Steve Walrath as their new CEO and Executive Director.  Steve immediately assumes responsibilities for all phases of the foundation and “Dare to Dream Camp” operations. 

The “Dare to Dream Camp” was created by the Irwin family in memory of their son, NASCAR driver and rookie of the year, Kenny Irwin Jr., who was killed at New Hampshire International Speedway.  The “Dare to Dream Camp” is open to children of all ages to teach leadership, team-building and self-esteem skills.  The camp is located 30 miles west of Indianapolis off Hwy 74 and features a race theme environment where children can learn skills to help them to be productive citizens in their communities.

“I’m very honored to be chosen to work with Kenny Sr. and the entire Irwin family.  They are a respected name in the NASCAR community and the accomplishments of the Dare to Dream Camp are second to none,” said Walrath.

Steve Walrath is a broadcast and business professional who took a small radio station in Wisconsin and transformed it into 6 multi-national companies doing business in the US, Canada and Australia.  With his international success, Steve began teaching Executive Leadership and Management skills on three continents to such companies as General Motors, Trek Bicycles Worldwide, Roman Meal Bread Company, the FBI, U.S. Naval Academy, New Scotland Yard, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and hundreds more.

Steve is the immediate past President of Crime Stoppers International having performed consultive work with the United Nations, private and public companies in the U.S., Canada, Finland, Switzerland,  Lebanon, China, South Africa, and Belize, while working through government, law enforcement, private enterprise and not-for-profit agencies in the fields of licensing, branding, marketing alliances and multi-level partnership activities.
