CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 23, 2006) – Today the Greg Biffle Foundation launched
its 2007 NASCAR Pet Calendar featuring 12 top NASCAR drivers and the most
spoiled family members – their pets. Pedigree, the Official Pet Care
Product of NASCAR, signed on as a sponsor for this year’s calendar.
Dogs, cats, horses, and even bunnies grace the pages of the 2007
calendar. In its second year, the 2006 NASCAR Pet Calendar was very
popular with fans, making it the no.1 best selling item on www.nascar.com. This year’s calendar has
some returning veteran pet calendar models such as Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt
Jr., and Tony Stewart. The new faces of the 2007 calendar are Jeff Burton,
Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Kyle Petty, Reed Sorenson, Martin Truex
Jr., and Kenny Wallace.
“With the help of The
NASCAR Foundation and other NASCAR drivers, we created the 2006 NASCAR Pet
Calendar, which fans really embraced,” said Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16
National Guard Ford and founder of The Greg Biffle Foundation. “The
calendar’s success allowed us to help shelters across the country that needed
our help. This year we are proud to have Pedigree as our sponsor, and are
looking forward to providing more shelters with the support they need.”
Pedigree, the Official Pet Care Product of NASCAR, is the first ever
sponsor of the calendar. Pedigree, like the Greg Biffle Foundation, is
known for its dedication to animal welfare and is an advocate for pet
adoption. This year’s calendar has some additional touches provided by
Pedigree. Each month the calendar features a “Pedigree Tip of the Month”
that provides valuable, helpful hints to keep fans’ pets safe and happy.
“We look forward to a successful partnership with The Greg Biffle
Foundation,” said Rob Leibowitz, marketing director at Pedigree. “Both the
Foundation and Pedigree are committed to helping millions of homeless dogs find
loving homes by encouraging dog adoption and supporting shelters and breed
rescue organizations nationwide.”
Pedigree is also a sponsor of Elliott
Sadler’s No. 38 Ford Fusion Team, and this weekend at Infineon Raceway in
Sonoma, Calif., Sadler’s car will be sporting the Pedigree paint scheme for the
Dodge/Save Mart 350 (FOX, 3 p.m. EST).

In addition to the
calendar launch, fans will have the opportunity to go online and vote in the
2006 Top Dog Contest, which was designed to generate awareness about pet
adoption. FOX announcers are paired with local shelter dogs from the
Sonoma County Animal Shelter for a fun and interactive event for fans.
It’s up to the fans to determine which k-9 looks most like its FOX
partner. Fans will be instructed to go to www.nascar.com/foundation to vote,
which begins on Friday, June 23, at 5 p.m. EST and ends on Sunday, June 25, at
noon EST. The winners will be announced during the race broadcast on FOX
on Sunday. Pedigree will donate a year’s supply of dog
food to the Sonoma County Animal Shelter in honor of the winning duo.
The 2007 NASCAR Pet
Calendars will be sold at major retailers such as: www.gregbifflefoundation.com, www.NASCAR.com, Petsmart,
Petco, Myers, K-mart in select markets, Books a Million, Calendar Club (mall
kiosks), and Pet Supplies Plus. The calendars will be in some retailers
beginning in early July. Other retailers will begin carrying the calendar
in the fall.
