Mooresville, NC. ( January 22, 2009) – The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), the nonprofit organization that positively impacts the lives of children in need, announced today the addition of Michelle Hunt as the foundation executive director. Hunt will provide the innovative leadership required to meet the needs of the foundation and those it serves.
Hunt will work closely with Kelly Janow, general manager of Martin Truex, Jr. LLC , to manage the day-to-day operation of the MTJF. In addition, she will have increased interaction with foundation partners in the creation of programs to continue the unprecedented growth of the MTJF allowing Truex to provide increased assistance to children in need.
“Last last year it became evident the foundation was growing in a new direction,” said Janow. “I realized we needed someone with a strong non-profit background who could help take MTJF to a new level. Michelle (Hunt) was the missing link we were looking for. Her non-profit experience will be such an asset to our program.”
“I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful foundation and the cause it serves,” Hunt followed. “There is much need in our community and I look forward to working with Martin (Truex Jr.), alongside the Board of Directors, to continue doing what we can to help children in need.”
Before joining the MTJF, Hunt was the director of development for the Charlotte (North Carolina) Jumper Classic, an equestrian event fundraiser for the Bobcats Youth Foundation. She also served as the director of development for the Special Olympics in Richmond, Virginia.
