LIVONIA, Mich. (April 26, 2007) – Fathead®, which produces life-size vinyl wall graphics, is giving NASCAR fans the opportunity to support The NASCAR Foundation’s signature fundraiser, NASCAR Day, with a unique 1-2-3 punch.
Beginning on April 26, 2007, NASCAR fans who purchase a NASCAR Fathead will be able to bring the action from the track into their favorite room or office with team drivers, numbers and cars. With each purchase, Fathead will include a commemorative 2007 NASCAR Day pin and designate 10 percent of the purchase price to benefit the NASCAR Day program. The promotion will conclude on May 20, 2007.
NASCAR Day, which will be held on May 18, 2007, was created in 2004 as a one-day celebration of the NASCAR spirit and its fans. NASCAR fans, corporations and organizations are encouraged to make a donation of five dollars. Each participant receives a collectable lapel pin for their donation. The NASCAR Foundation, which was formed in 2006, supports the various NASCAR charities formed by NASCAR drivers, teams and industry members. Fathead has designated a portion of proceeds to The Jeff Gordon Foundation as a beneficiary of their association with the NASCAR Day program.
“We are thrilled to be designated as one of the beneficiaries of this fun-filled promotion! Fathead should be commended for their generosity and their efforts to support children facing debilitating illnesses,” said Trish Kriger, Director of The Jeff Gordon Foundation.
The Jeff Gordon Foundation was founded in 1999. The mission of The Jeff Gordon Foundation is to improve the lives of children facing life-threatening and chronic diseases by supporting pediatric medical care and initiatives that address the emotional needs of these special children.
“The growth of NASCAR Day is tribute to the great fans of NASCAR and their generosity,” said Brock Weatherup, Chief Executive Officer, Fathead, LLC. “Fathead is honored to have the opportunity to support organizations such as The NASCAR Foundation and The Jeff Gordon Foundation who are making a difference in so many worthwhile causes.”
In addition, Fathead employees will participate in NASCAR Day at the company’s offices in Livonia, Michigan. Employees will make a donation and wear the NASCAR Day lapel pin along with gear of their favorite driver while decorating the office to celebrate NASCAR Day.
“NASCAR Day is our signature fundraising event for The NASCAR Foundation,” said Sandy Marshall, executive director, The NASCAR Foundation. “We are thrilled to be partnering with one of our NASCAR licensees to raise funds for our Family of Charities.”
