The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Hosts Second Annual Golf Tournament Near Truex Jr.'s Hometown

MOORESVILLE, NC (June 24, 2009) – NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr. and the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF) announced plans today for the Second Annual Foundation Golf Tournament and Dinner to be held in Atlantic City, NJ. Last year’s event raised over $200,000 for the foundation. 

The tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22 at the Dolce Seaview Resort and Spa. The state-of-the-art facility offers 36 holes of championship golf on two of New Jersey’s oldest and most prestigious golf courses. The second annual golf tournament and dinner will host 72-foursomes during the all-day event.

Following the day’s event a dinner and auction will be held at the resort. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Truex Jr. and bid on some of the New Jersey native’s personal memorabilia and among other unique sports paraphernalia. 

“Even though Martin no longer permanently resides in New Jersey, he still calls it home,” said Michelle Hunt, Executive Director of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation. “It is important to both him and the foundation that we continue to find opportunities to support his hometown friends and family. This golf tournament and dinner allow us to do just that. Martin feels so fortunate to have such support behind him and it is for this reason that we welcome every opportunity to go back to say thank you. We invite everyone to come and be a part of a fun and exciting day.”

Both events are open to the public, but tickets are limited. The cost to participate in the golf tournament is $200 per player and tickets to the dinner and auction are $100 per guest. Last year’s event sold out shortly after registration opened and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.

All proceeds raised from the event will benefit the foundation’s mission of helping children in need.
